Rating:

Features:
Large diaphram condenser with continuously switchable
pickup pattern from omni through cardioid, hypercardioid,
and figure 8. Bass rolloff, -20 db pad switch.

What I liked:
It has a nice warm sound that compresses well and takes
EQ if you feel the need. Compared to Rode NT1, it is less
brittle. Compared to my BG4s, the high end has more
definition and more realistic bass. I haven't been able to do
a shootout with other mics.

What I didn't:
I haven't disliked it for any situation yet.

User Tips:
Dial the pickup pattern and listen all the way through. I was
really suprised at how versatile this mic is. The CAD M179
is supposed to be the same mic. The M39 was a special
issue.
